MEDITATION: love it or hate it? 🧐

We can have a lot of resistance to meditating…

it sounds boring…

it seems hard…

it takes too much time…

What’s it really gonna do for you anyway!? 😕 It’s just something else to add to your to-do list. Who has the damn time.

Yep I used to think all that stuff myelf too. I’d sit down, cross legged on the floor, ready to meditate for 30 minutes, not able to turn my mind off. I’d get super uncomfortable and start fidgeting. After about 3 minutes I’d say forget it, I have other things to do that are actually productive!

But now…I’m easily meditating every day. And guess what…I’m so much more focused afterwards! These days it’s a positive feedback loop because I can actually see the results of my time spent meditating.

From personal experience I can tell you it can be easy to meditate. No joke. And although it does take some time and is another thing on your to-do list, it’s probably one of the most important things you can add to your to-do list because it will save you time…

…because meditation is a powerful tool that helps you get and stay focused. It trains your brain to focus on one thing and to be in the moment so you can STAY focused.

👉 How to make meditation easy (aka: doable) 👈

🙏 Start with a commitment to only 3 minutes a day

No pressure or need to make it a huge time commitment. Do less than 3 minutes if that helps get you started! Even just a few minutes will help you focus more and you can slowly add more and more time whenever you like. Leave the hour long meditation sessions to the monks. 🤣

🙏 Use a guided meditation

This helped me a ton. Trying to completely clear your mind of all thought right off the bat can be super difficult and frustrating, which makes it less likely you’ll ever do it again. Use a guided meditation and allow someone to walk you through it – this makes it soooo much easier to stick to.

🙏 Make it part of your routine

It will quickly become second nature! I added my own meditation time to my morning routine, right in between drinking a glass of water (anyone else wake up totally parched?! 🙋‍♀️) and making my smoothie. Now it’s a habit on level with brushing my teeth.

🙏 Know why you’re doing it

I know I’m personally meditating on a regular basis so I can not only have more focus throughout the day, but to release all the muscle tension I have (it actually helps ease my headaches). Without purpose it’s, well, purposeless. That’s not going to motivate you to meditation one bit.
